About Us

Welcome to Elger Bay Elementary!

I am so excited to introduce myself as the principal of Elger Bay Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead such an amazing school.

I come to Elger Bay with a variety of experiences and perspectives. I have a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Western Washington University and a master’s in educational leadership from Western Governors University. I spent eight years as a classroom teacher in the Longview and Ridgefield School Districts teaching second through fifth grade. I also spent two years in the Longview School District as a Climate, Culture, and Behavior Specialist. Before coming to Elger Bay, I served as the Principal/ Director of Teaching and Learning in the Conway School District.

As a leader, I am committed to lifelong learning. I believe a great leader creates a school environment where everyone is knocking down the doors to get in every day. The staff, students, and families are dedicated to giving students the education that they deserve. Through thoughtful collaboration teams work together to set goals, monitor progress, and reflect on their impact. I believe schools can overcome past obstacles through innovation and involvement from all stakeholders. Students, families, and staff feel safe, valued, and heard. I believe in making a difference in the lives of students every day.

I am so thankful for the opportunity to bring what I have experienced and learned with me to the community at Elger Bay. I look forward to getting to know you and your children and meeting you all soon.

Sincerely,
Tim Dickinson

Unique to Elger Bay

Because of Elger Bay's unique location we have a wonderful opportunity to share hands-on environmental learning with our students. We are fortunate to have local community involvement that help keep the Elger Bay Trail and Beaver Marsh Preserve clean and well-marked. They often involve Elger Bay students with planting native fauna and teach them about non-native invasive plants. We also have an amphitheater built with a Lowe's grant applied for by our PTA!
