What time do I pick up my child at the end of the school day?
FOR THE SAFETY AND BEST LEARNING ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL OUR STUDENTS, WE ASK THAT YOU DO NOT PICK UP YOUR STUDENT(S) FROM THE CLASSROOM.
Students with pick-up notes are released at 3:27 pm to the gym. This reduces the traffic flow around the school buses. We do not allow "walkers" at Elger Bay Elementary due to the safety issues associated with our rural location. Bus transportation is available for every student in our area.
What is the pick-up procedure at Elger Bay Elementary?
We have a unique pick-up procedure at Elger Bay Elementary that allows for the safest possible situation for your student(s). Students with pick-up notes or who are on a permanent pick-up schedule are supervised in the gym starting at 3:27 pm. Persons picking up students drive around (turn right at top of driveway) to the back of the building where they are directed by staff to two lines. Once stopped, a staff member will ask who you are picking up and call on their radio to the gym supervisor to send the student(s) out to the covered area. There, they will be escorted to your car.
***Though the line of cars may look daunting at first, we encourage you to try it instead of parking and coming into the building to sign out your children. The line rarely takes more than 10 minutes to get through and is the safest way for your student(s) to be picked up.
What do I do if I must pick up my student early from school?
If you must pick up your child(ren) early from school, please call the office or send a note, if possible. Any time a child is picked up before 3:27 pm, you must come to the office to sign out your child. We will then call your child to the office. We ask that you do not go directly to the classroom to get your child as this causes an interruption to the entire class
